Sept 8-Alarm goes off at 3:30 am-We're up and on the road by 4:15 am! It only takes an hour to get to Rochester and we are there by 5:15 am. Park the car and walk over to the hospital and check in. It's 5:30 am and there are 3 gals at the desks and they're not quite ready to go yet. Enter number 4 and she's just gotten engaged over the weekend!! :) Alright, we get registered and are now upstairs and moving thru the pre-op procedures. It's 6:30a and now Gary's walking off to the operating room. His AC joint repair Surgury started at 8:14 am and by 9:20am it was over. By 11:15 am he was upstairs in his room on the 8th floor of Methodist hospital (Rm 8-225B). During surgery, Gary had a couple of heartbeat skips, so they did a EKG on him in his room. I don't know any of the results yet as I'm still waiting to hear from the Doctor. Called Gary's room about 4:30p to see how he was doing....he had just gotten sick and they were getting things back in order. I knew that was going to happen .... one of those things that I can't handle.
I think the lack of sleep, people possibly getting sick and my nerves took a toll on me...I wasn't feeling too great, so I tucked him in and said I'd see him later. At noon I headed home...boy that was a long drive...could hardly stay awake but made it home and took a 3.5 hr nap. Gary sounded much better by 5:30pm. I think he'll be going home tomorrow.
